Mechanical engineering student · aspiring systems engineer
I’m a mechanical engineering student at South Dakota State University, interested in the systems that make space missions work. I like getting into the practical details—from how a rover moves to how hardware holds up. I’ve explored those questions through NASA design competitions and hands-on engineering work.
Team Leader
Systems engineering competition to design a lunar transit pathway construction mission. Leading a team of 15 from kickoff through delivery.
Design Lead
Designed a refrigerated and ambient storage container to hold lunar surface core samples for a sample-storage mission to the Moon. Also designed and prototyped the core drill that attaches to the front of the FLEX rover.
Best in Theme — FinalistMobility Sub-Team Leader
For the NASA RASC-AL competition, I led the mobility sub-team in designing and analyzing a lunar maintenance and servicing rover. I designed and performed FEA on the rover mobility system using SolidWorks, ANSYS, and ADAMS View. The team developed a concept to repair lunar infrastructure, transfer utilities, move payloads, and survey and navigate the lunar surface.
Best Prototype — FinalistNOVA was designed to support sustained lunar operations through these mission goals:
Built digital twin models of 15+ electrical substations in Autodesk Inventor from ReCap scan data; led quality control and streamlined workflow across teams.
Ran reliability testing on power supplies for LED displays; led failure-analysis investigations and documented findings for engineering teams. Designed parts in Creo.
Managed surplus of 200+ hardware devices and imaged technology for ~450 students.
